The Purpose:

The purpose of BoldWorship.com is to help equip God’s ministers to be better worship leaders. We do that by trying to provide you with the songs and resources that you need to lead your church in worship. But before we can lead our churches, we must go there ourselves. That is why this page is so important. DEVOTIONALS is a place where you can come and find written materials that you can share with your Choir, Praise Team and/or Orchestra. Their purpose is to help you worship personally, and to allow you to lead your fellow musicians and praise leaders to worship, so that when your congregation gathers, you and your music ministry team will be ready to lead them to a place you’ve already been.

Do Not Worry

Worry is one of the great enemies of the Christian life. It can be debilitating, stopping us dead in our tracks, keeping us from pursuing the abundant life God intended for us to have. It is the opposite of faith, without which it is impossible to please God. And it is the work of Satan in our hearts and minds.

The Bible teaches that Satan is a liar, and the father of all lies (John 8:44). He and his demons whisper lies into the ears of believers and unbelievers alike. The purpose of these lies is to blind people to the truth about God and His love for us. Some of his lies are:

You are alone . . . You are helpless . . . No one cares . . . You will fail . . .

Now, hear God's truth. It is found in Philippians 4:6, 7:

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

The Scripture is emphatic on this point. One translator puts it this way: Stop perpetually worrying about even one thing. God tells us there is literally nothing we should worry about, because He cares for us. Nothing is too small or too great for Him to care about. Nothing slips by His watchful eye.

So what should you do? Pray and praise! Allow the concerns of your mind to become prayers and petitions you bring to God, honoring Him as the source of everything in your life. And praise Him for His love and concern for you, remembering those things He has done for you in the past, and in faith thanking Him for His future blessings.

The result is peace, God's peace, a peace that is beyond all understanding, a peace that will set up a guard around our hearts and minds, protecting us from the lies of Satan, and keeping us for a life of service to our King.
